What is the SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard®?
The SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard® card, better known as the SpendPlus™ Card, is a debit card that can be used as a form of payment. You can deposit cash onto your prepaid card at thousands of retail locations, or at participating banks. You can also have your paycheck directly deposited onto your SpendPlus™Card at no cost and avoid time and money spent cashing your paycheck. Once money is deposited on the card you can use your Card, you can make purchases for goods and services at millions of locations worldwide and use your card at any ATM that accepts Debit MasterCard. When making purchases, you can choose to sign for it or use your assigned PIN number. This Card offers an easy, convenient, and safe way to pay for all of your purchases without the need of carrying large amounts of cash.

What is the difference between the SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard® and a credit card?
A credit card gives you a line of credit allowing you to make purchases now and pay for them later, in most cases, with interest. The SpendPlus™ Card is a Prepaid card that is loaded with YOUR money. It gives you the purchasing power and prestige of the MasterCard brand but with all the benefits of a cash-based lifestyle. You can spend or withdraw the funds as you see fit, up to the balance amount loaded on your card. 

Can I use my SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard® to withdraw cash from an ATM?
Yes. Your Card can be used at any ATM operated by the bank that issued your Card or by any ATM that accepts Debit MasterCard. You will need to enter your 4 digit PIN when prompted. Remember that you will be subject to surcharge fees charged by the owner of the ATM and are separate from the transaction fees related to the use of your Card. If an ATM surcharge is assessed, you will be asked if you agree to pay the fee. If you do not agree to pay the fee, you can cancel the transaction.


Where can I use my SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard®?
Your SpendPlus™ Card is accepted at millions of retail locations worldwide anywhere Debit MasterCard is accepted. You can use your card for travel, hotel reservations, rental cars and much more. Purchases can be made at merchant locations, over the phone, online or from catalogs.


I just received my SpendPlus™Card in the mail. What do I do now?
You must activate your Card once you receive it by calling the toll-free number on your card carrier, or the back of the card, or visiting the website located on the back of your Card. Complete instructions are included with your card.

 

How will I know my SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard® balance?
There are several ways to keep on top of your account balance. The smartest way is document your deposits, withdrawals, and fees to calculate your balance. If you have Internet access, you can visit www.SpendPlus.com. Log in to the site to view your account balance and see all transactions you have made. You can also call (866) 766-4514 (toll-free) or (480) 282-9546 24-hours a day seven days a week to hear your account balance and to hear your last 5 deposits or withdrawals. How will I get a history of my transactions or check my balance?
You can log on to the SpendPlus™ website at www.SpendPlus.com and register online after which you will be able to view your transaction history for the last 90 days. Or you can call (866) 766-4514 (toll-free) or (480) 282-9546 to hear the last five transactions (withdrawals or deposits). You may choose to have a paper statement mailed, emailed, or faxed to you.  Additional Fees may apply; see the Cardholder Agreement for details.

How do I log into my account on the SpendPlus™ website?
Click the "Cardholder Login" button on the top right of the web site. You will need your Card number and the 6-digit Passcode as detailed in the Cardholder Instructions.

How do I use the automated phone system (IVR)?
To use the automated phone system (IVR) dial (866) 766-4514 (toll-free) or (480) 282-9546. To use the IVR you will need your card number, expiration date, and your passcode.

Your passcode is determined by date of birth MM/DD/YY. If you were born on June 14th, 1958 your passcode would be 061458. First time users will be asked to enter a pin to be used at point-of-sale locations and ATMs after they have verified their identity.

Loading Money To Your Card

  1. Employer Direct Deposit or Government Payment: You may instruct your employer or government agency to directly load/deposit your payroll or payment onto your Card. Direct deposits will be available on the date specified by your employer or government agency.

  2. Transfer Funds: You may load your family member card from your card by logging on to the cardholder member site. There is a $3.00 Transfer Load Fee per transaction.

    Are there any costs associated with using the SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard®? There are fees associated with card usage and card funding. A monthly maintenance fee of $3.95 will be assessed each month after the card has been issued. Please refer to the Cardholder Agreement for a complete list of services and associated fees.

    What happens if I use up all of the money in my SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard® account?
    If you use up all of the money on the card, you can always add more money to the account to continue using it until the expiration date. Failure of a cardholder to pay the monthly fee or cover any negative balance within 30 days shall result in the card being inactive. After 60 days, if the Card Account is still negative it will be closed. Please see the Cardholder Agreement. If you have used up all of the money on the card and it is expired, please destroy the card by cutting it up.

    How can I change my account information?
    You can change account information such as the account address associated with your SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard® by calling customer service at (866) 766-4514 (toll-free) or (480) 282-9546.

    What should I do if my SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard® is lost or stolen?
    You must call the customer service number (866) 766-4514 (toll-free) or (480) 282-9546 between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM Pacific Standard time, or log on to www.SpendPlus.com to report the card lost/stolen, and then contact customer service to request a replacement card. If you are calling before or after these hours, please call MasterCard Global Services at;

    In the United States
    For an emergency within the United States

    Outside the United States
    For countries not listed in our directory, you can call the following telephone number collect to the United States in the event of an emergency (636) 722-7111.

    I have lost my ATM PIN number. What do I do?
    The only way to reset this information is by calling customer service at (866) 766-4514 (toll-free) or (480) 282-9546. You will be given a new temporary PIN that must be changed prior to card use.

    I have lost my Internet/IVR Pass code. What do I do?
    You must contact customer service by calling (866) 766-4514 (toll-free) or (480) 282-9546 to request a new pass code.

    Can I send money to a family member?
    An additional family member card can be purchased for $6.95 to share funds and load to your family member's card. We also offer, at no charge, a “Companion Card” if you have a family member who lives in Mexico. You may share up to $500 per transaction for a card to card transfer fee of only $3.00 per transaction. Money can then be accessed at an ATM network.     How do I send money to a family member?
    1.Cardholders call toll-free (866) 766-4514 or (480) 282-9546.
    2.Log into the IVR and press “3” from the “Main Menu” to send money to family.

    Can I pay bills using my SpendPlus™ Prepaid MasterCard®?
    Yes. You can pay thousands of billers in the U.S.: utility companies – including gas, electric, phone, wireless, pre-paid wireless top-ups, cable TV, satellite, internet, water, garbage and more… mortgage payments, insurance, car payments, finance companies, credit cards… Stop paying cash or sending money orders. Save time & money. Avoid late charges and interest. No more service disconnects. It’s simple.

    1. No setup necessary, just use your card as "Credit" or "Debit/ATM" with your service provider. Ask your biller for more information about their payment options.
